The Three-Minute-Thesis Competition (3MT) is an academic competition challenging PhD students to present their research in under three minutes to a general audience, in English.
The 3MT celebrates research discoveries and encourages you to share the significance of your PhD project with a broader community in an engaging, audience-friendly way.
Eligibility: PhD students in their final year are eligible if they will defend their thesis after June 2026. Participants must still be enrolled as PhD students as of March 2026.

In 2020, a Unibo student won the 3MT competition final: Maria Francesca Di Filippo with her PhD project on the properties of chitosan films enriched with Snail slime.
